Enaercan Meeting Summary

What I remember from last night meeting with Enercan:

1. Each unit has 2 meters , and they cost to maintain monthly $7.
75 each and the $15.50 cost is included in the Delivery Charge, no
matter if the meter is in use or not (like during the summer).
2. The reps wouldn't respond to the challenge of breaking down
in items the (huge) delivery charge, and they just pointed to various
resources like their website and hydro website to find out more detail.
At least this is what I understood.
3. They mentioned something of a cost of (I don't remember
exactly the number but something like) $2.8/KW that I didn't
understand and I don't know to what they referred to. Maybe the
people who stayed later after the meeting have now a better
understanding and can explain to us what it is.
4. Even if we have two meters we only get a quota of 1000KW/moth
at the lowest price per KW and not 2000 KW/month as it should be
normal (i.e. 1000 KW per meter). This is like your family is leasing
two cars and the leasing company limits you to 20,000 KM combined
for both cars before they start charging you at the end of leas for
each extra KM you put on any of the cars, instead of 20,000 KM per
car per leas term as they actually do. This must be fixed by the board
/management. The difference will not be huge, so I don't know why
they would not want to go for it.
5. The several thousand dollars you owe and that have been
accumulated in bills over the last 8 months can be paid without
penalty throughout the next six month, but the newly issues bills
from now on must be paid in 30 days.

Usage ranges by month

Questions for ENERCAN:

Here are some of the things I think that ENERCAN / The Corporation
need to tell us first:
1. What is the maximum/minimum monthly charge for YCC 244 across all
units (at least for the months of December-January and February) and
what is the average monthly delivery charge for those winter months?
2. How much per month is the aggregated Delivery Charge at the
condominium level (the sum of ALL delivery charges for EACH month for
ALL the units of YCC 244).
3. Board/Management should tell us if the current sum of all
delivery charges for each month for all the units of YCC 244 is the
same/less/greater than what YCC 244 was paying before sub metering as
delivery charge for equivalent months/periods.
4. It would also be interesting to know the maximum/minimum KW
consumption per unit per month (for both regular electricity and heat).
Something seems not to be right, especially when this winter was not
a hard winter (I haven't used heat in one bedroom almost at all and I
haven't kept the heaters at full blast at all times in the other
rooms either).
Please think of other questions they have to answer to us.

Electricity Bill -- Delivery Charge Rip-Off

My total delivery charge for the 8 bills I received runs to an average of about 50% of the cost of electricity.
Total Usage Cost: $1171
Total Delivery Charge: $580
Total Regulatory Charge:$99

WIth the guys before (the 2 bills in May-June-July) the delivery charge used to be about 35%

For example in July for an usage cost of $47.01 they charged $16.87 delivery .
Enercan, in August for $51.98 usage cost charged $41.50 delivery charge.

Enercan doesn't charge service fee more than $0.25 though. CK used to charge us $9.93 per month.

Please check yor bills.

I guess these new guys are ripping us off.
